Tony and Ingrid invite their audience to join in the practice of what homo sapiens do best: use fiction and fantasy as a means to survive.
The Pigeon & The Mouse premiered live in a raw, vacant retail space near Grand Central Station, with a pre-show art installation and reception featuring live music and six original paintings on floor-to-ceiling canvases inspired by the story’s central themes.
Following the January 2020 premiere, Welcome to Campfire went on to perform adaptations of the piece for fifteen live audiences over the course of quarantine in New York City. They presented the final performance at the The Empty Circle gallery in Gowanus, Brooklyn, where audiences and passers-by on the sidewalk could view the piece, at a safe social distance, through the glass storefront while listening to the 4D sound score on their personal headphones.
The Pigeon & The Mouse had its UK premiere September 9-11, 2023 at The Space Theatre in London, where the lovers squatted in an abandoned church with reimagined set and light design. The London production was a 2023 OFFIE (The OffWestEnd Theatre Awards) Nominee.
